I started a new book today called Loving-Kindness: The Revolutionary Art of Happiness by Sharon Salzburg.
The beginning of Chapter 2 has this beautiful writing by Galaway Kinnell. This is only half of the poem. I would love to hear how his words speak to you.
Stands for all things,
Even for those things that don’t flower,
For everything flowers, from within, of self-blessing;
Though sometimes it is necessary
To reteach a thing it’s loveliness,
To put a hand in the brow
Of the flower,
And retell it in words and in touch,
It is lovely
Until it flowers again from within, of self-blessing.
