Happy New Year, dear friends! So many new things in the works for 2018!! First, over the next 10 days, I will be offering 10 experiences to engage in Henri Nouwen’s book, Life of the Beloved. I would love for you to pick up a copy of this book! You can read it in one afternoon with a great cup of coffee or with a group discussing his many powerful thoughts over the course of a few weeks.
I created these experiences for a prayer vigil set up the week before Christmas, so at the end of each day, I will post pictures and give ideas of how you could set up each prayer station.
I LOVE this book. The 1 caution I have about offering this book to anyone is that Nouwen’s view from the outset is that there is a secular world and a spiritual world. I am more of a follower of Richard Rohr who sees All Are Connected. We don’t have 1 side over here that we call secular and then WAY on the OPPOSITE end a side we call spiritual. God resides in all things so all things are spiritual. Seeing like this takes practice and I still stumble over putting my thoughts into words, so I give so much room for grace in reading Life of the Beloved.
